A note on choosing care
None of these is “better” or “worse” — they are different kinds of support. If you’re unsure what’s right for you, your doctor is a good person to ask.
LicensedGenerally means the person holds a state license with a defined scope and board oversight.
CertifiedGenerally means the person is credentialed by a professional body; scope varies by credential.
PeerA distinct, valued role grounded in lived experience and peer training.
A label describes a credential type, not a guarantee about any individual; please verify any provider’s current standing yourself.
